Eric Jorgensen · Director of Engineering · Product builder

Engineering leader. Product builder. Security practitioner.

I lead technical teams, architect secure systems, and ship software. Today I’m Director of Engineering at Protect3 Solutions; independently, I build products from first idea through release. My work spans federal security platforms, commercial cybersecurity, and consumer applications.

Current leadership

Leading engineering at Protect3 Solutions.

I direct engineering operations across federal and commercial cybersecurity work—connecting team performance, technical architecture, product strategy, delivery standards, and growth.

01Engineering & delivery

Lead teams through complex cybersecurity work.

Direct cross-functional engineers and consultants across federal and commercial engagements, with accountability for architecture, delivery operations, technical standards, mentoring, and customer outcomes.

02Service strategy

Turn technical capability into a repeatable offering.

Shape the product strategy and architecture for a modular three-tier Cybersecurity as a Service offering—Watch, Comply, and Defend—mapped to NIST CSF 2.0.

03Product & growth

Connect engineering to the business.

Drive product vision for an AI-enabled compliance platform and lead technical proposal, capture, and go-to-market work that connects delivery capability to new opportunities.

Selected work

Security platforms, commercial software, and products in customers’ hands.

A selection of systems and products I’ve led, architected, or built—each shaped by real operating constraints and a clear definition of done.

Independent products

Built, released, and in customers’ hands.

These live products reflect end-to-end ownership: discovery, product direction, experience design, architecture, implementation, testing, release operations, and iteration.

Ways to work together

Senior technical judgment, paired with hands-on delivery.

I take on focused engagements where product direction, engineering execution, security, and operating context all matter. AI is one available tool—not the premise of every project.

01Independent

Product & engineering leadership

Add experienced direction when a product, platform, or team needs clarity. I help frame the problem, shape the roadmap and architecture, align stakeholders, raise delivery standards, and lead the work to a useful release.

  • Product direction
  • Technical strategy
  • Delivery leadership
  • Team coaching
  • Fractional leadership
02Independent

Custom software & product delivery

Build focused internal tools and customer-facing products from discovery through release. I can own the product decisions, experience, architecture, implementation, testing, and release work as one connected system.

  • Product discovery
  • Experience design
  • Architecture
  • Implementation
  • Release readiness
03Independent

AI-enabled products & workflows

Use AI where it materially improves a product or operating workflow. Frontier APIs, open or self-hosted models, and on-device intelligence are selected for capability, privacy, latency, reliability, and cost—not novelty.

  • Workflow discovery
  • Applied AI architecture
  • Agents & automation
  • Evaluations
  • Human controls

About

Technical depth. Practical leadership.

I’m a Denver-based engineering, product, and cybersecurity leader. I’m comfortable writing the code, shaping the architecture, mentoring the team, talking with customers, and making the delivery decisions that turn a complicated idea into dependable capability.

My earlier work in U.S. Air Force contracting and regulated commercial agreements still shapes how I lead: define the outcome, understand the constraints, make ownership clear, and build trust through execution.
